Welcome to the inn "Zum Reinhardswald"

Finally going on vacation again and really recovering from the worries and everyday stress. What could be more obvious than spending the best time of the year in wonderful surroundings?

Visit us in our traditional inn in conscience - and walk in the footsteps of the Brothers Grimm. Let the world-famous stories and legends, which have been translated into over 160 languages, come to life again at the locations where the events took place.

Our house in Wesertal-Gewissenruh is not only a place to rest and relax, it is also an ideal starting point for a variety of activities, such as sightseeing, hiking, cycling and canoeing or a steamboat trip on the Weser, through one of the most attractive regions in Germany.

By the way, one of the longest cycle paths in Europe, the Weser cycle path, is only 400 m away from our house. What could be more obvious than exploring the magical surroundings by bike and doing something for your health and fitness. Of course, we offer you the opportunity to park your vehicle safely with us and to let your possibly wet clothes dry in our house.

Strengthen yourself after the fabulous experiences of the day and let us spoil you with the epicurean delights of the region in our cozy guest rooms or on our terrace with a view of the beautiful Weser Valley.
Restful sleep and... maybe... fairytale dreams of your new adventures are included in our comfortable rooms.

Restful sleep is a basic requirement for rest and relaxation. That is why our rooms are all in a quiet location.
They are equipped with: shower, hairdryer, toilet,  TV, free WiFi and mostly with a balcony.

The continental breakfast consists of bread/rolls, butter, jam, tea/coffee/hot chocolate, also sausage and/or cheese and/or vegan (spread)...

Free WiFi

The  over 3000m² garden invites you to a picnic or a walk.

peace of conscience:

Waldensian (Huguenot) settlement founded in 1722.

Conscience is on the German Fairy Tale Route, directly on the Reinhardwald above the Weser. Even today, inscriptions on the church and some houses tell of this event.

Mühlenplatz Gieselwerder:

Open-air exhibition of originally recreated watermills, castles, palaces, churches and town halls from the old days on a scale of 1:20 and 1:40. The mills are powered by a replica stream.

Bad Karlshafen:

Attractive Huguenot town with numerous baroque buildings in the old town, Huguenot Museum and new thermal baths. Founded in 1699 by Landgrave Karl of Hesse-Kassel.

Hann Münden:

Medieval town with beautiful half-timbered buildings and
nice town hall. Here at the "Weserstein" Fulda and Werra unite to form the Weser. Beginning of the Weser Cycle Path, it leads from here to Bremen.

Sababurg Castle and Zoo:

Fairytale castle in the middle of the Reinhardswald with primeval forest and animal park, which is known far beyond the national borders for its variety of species,
fair husbandry and historical backward breeding is known.

Fürstenberg Castle:

Headquarters of the Fürstenberg porcelain manufactory, one of the oldest and most renowned in Europe, founded in 1747. Three hundred years of cultural history of porcelain can be viewed in the Renaissance palace and the "white gold of the Weser" can be purchased in the factory shop. Furthermore, courses for painting porcelain yourself with real porcelain colors and historical painting templates are offered.
